20/365 January 20th, 2012.
I am really bad at keeping up with this day to day.
I’ll take you back to tomorrow.
The second most prominent memory from January 19th, 2012 is being extremely saddened by my final English grade. I said as she called my name to come pick up my paper, “If I get a 98 I swear, I can never get higher than a 98…”
98…
“Not good enough” I say to my friends, who received what is likely to be a score much lower than a 98.
That was a perfect paper written by a perfectly adequate aspiring journalist. What am I doing wrong.
The foremost prominent memory from January 19th, 2012 is receiving a “Dean’s List Honor Roll” award at my schools once-a-semester awards assembly. I’m “soaring with the eagles”, a phrase said by my mother at least 15 times yesterday afternoon.
4.33 GPA…
On January 19th, 2012 I smashed my left hand ring finger into my closet door…
I am left handed…
A day of highs and lows indeed.
January 20th, 2012 was a perfectly average day.
A perfectly average Friday morning; 5:30 wake up, 2 hours of ignoring my Biology teacher, 2 hours of Art class flying by quicker than the pace I am working at.
Check.
A perfectly average Friday afternoon: 2 wonderful hours in French, diving deeper and deeper into the Parisian culture I hope to one day be a part of, 30 minutes of teenage girl gossip and drama, and 2 hours of my obnoxiously loud TA Art Class.
Check.
But today after school life was pleasingly un-average; I have a 75% chance of spending my summer alone in New York City (25% higher than what it was last week, by my calculations.)
And now I am making the most wonderful smelling cupcakes and anticipating an equally wonderful night of eating them while watching Ryan Gosling movies and finishing up Sherlock. (I am anticipating tears in copious amounts…)
